Visiting HAMs
The purpose of the station is to educate the public about wireless communication and amateur radio in particular. The station is thus the public out-reach arm of the Swedish Amateur Radio Union (SSA). We are located at the National Museum of Science and Technology and operate in close co-operation with the museum. The station is staffed by SSA volunteers.
As a visiting HAM you will have the opportunity to operate from the station but there are certain rules that will have to be observed.
- Operating from the station is only possible when the station is staffed by a SSA volunteer. Museum staff are not authorised to open the station or operate the equipment.
- All operating from the station is to performed under the supervision of the SSA volunteer on duty.
- Operations are limited by the SSA volunteer on duty license privileges. If the SSA volunteer on duty is a holder of a Swedish national entry level license the visiting HAM has to abide by the limitations of that license as well.
- Operation is only permitted using the SK0TM callsign. No QSOs is permitted using personal callsigns.
- SK0TM is not a RENT-a-QTH. It is a public out-reach and visitor station. Visiting HAMs do not have priority over visitors from the general public.
The station is normally open as follows:
- Wednesday 17:00 – 20:00
- Saturday & Sunday 11:00 – 17:00
All times are local.
Be advised: the operating hours might vary!
To be sure that the station will be open during your visit please send us an e-mail to stationsansvarig@sk0tm.se ahead of time.
SK0TM welcomes all HAMs and we hope you will enjoy yourself during your visit!
